- OVERSCAN MODES
- --------------
-
- Mode50/51 - is usually supplied as a module (in $.!System.Modules) with
- Presenter II.
-
- These two new modes are, according to the Presenter II User
- Guide, in the Public Domain. They are apparently Overscan
- versions of Modes 12 & 15 giving roughly 1500 x 1100
- i.e 750 x 275 in the Graphics Mode. Text is 96 x 34 although
- you would have trouble reading the top line. In either of
- these modes you can have the Graph Display and the Options
- menu side by side so that you can watch the changes taking
- place.
-
- Just load the module and the call up mode 50 or 51 from the
- desktop palette utility.
-
- BigMode - This module will add a new screen mode to RISC OS. The new mode
- is 50, and allows 92 columns by 36 rows of text (1472 x 1152
- graphics units) in 16 colurs. Thus it is a slightly bigger
- version of mode 12. You canload it from the desktop by
- double-clicking on the 'BigMode' icon and the select it by the
- palette icon and entering 50 in the last li e of the 'Mode'
- submenu. You should now be able to move windows all over the
- screen but you may have to play with the horizontal and
- vertical screen size adjustments on the monitor (it also
- worked OK with a NEC Multi-Sync II that I tried). I have
- found it particularly useful when using !Draw because a 1/2
- scale portrait A4 sheet can be displayed in its entirety, but
- it can of course be used from,(say) BASIC by entering 'MODE 50'
- (you need ScreenSize 104k).
